If the Mayan calendar is correct, and I am not here in 5 days, I’d just like to thank everyone for everything. It has been a wonderful, fun, often disappointing but still fun, big chunk of years.
During those years, I spent six years in the US Navy, with 39 months in Vietnam. Yes, I got shot at, but they missed.
I also spent many years as a commercial electrician. And, yes, I stuck my finger in the wrong spot a couple times. As a friend of mine says, he knows two things about electricity: 1) you can’t see it; and 2) it hurts like hell.
Two years ago, I decided to take an idea I had for a book, and make the idea into a book. Silly me. I learned the hard way that I didn’t know anything about writing. And I learned the hard way that I didn’t know anything about finding the right publisher. I have several books in publication, but I wouldn’t buy the first four. They might be good to level a leg on a coffee table, or help contribute to a landfill, but those books are not really books.
I have discovered what I hope is the best publisher for me. I will report back when I know a little more. And you might even hear the yippee when the new publisher actually sells something.
If the end is coming soon, 2012 has been a good year for learning. I learned how to be a better writer, I learned how to be a better blogger, and I even learned what SEO is all about.
So, to honor the end of our world, here are the ten best blog posts of 2012:

Of course, if I am not here this coming Saturday, I did a lot of work for nothing. But, I think I will be here. If not in body, then in spirit.
